Practice Bases

"Discover a Beautiful China", as a series of practical teaching bases for international students, design tours of the beautiful China that facilitates students’ understanding of China via the experience of the natural landscapes, history, food, tea culture, ceramic art, classical Chinese gardens, revolutionary spirit, smart cities, and featured villages, etc. It is also a second classroom that holds events to raise the school’s internationalization level and improve students' cross-culture communication capability. It includes both on-campus and off-campus bases that cover various fields in China, such as ecology, politics, society, economy, and culture, as well as venues for field studies across Zhejiang Province (e.g., tourist attractions, museums, travel agencies, and hotels).

Located at Tourism College of Zhejiang, Zhejiang Tourism Museum is a national AAAA-level scenic spot that shines like a diamond in Xiaoshan Higher Education Zone of Hangzhou. Jointly approved by Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics and Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau, the museum was officially opened to the public on September 27, 2013 after two-year’s construction. It is a chairman unit of the Educational Tourism Programme Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Museum Society. As the first tourism-theme museum in the country, it consists of a main hall (the museum) and two exhibition halls (one for traditional architecture and customs, the other for intangible cultural heritage).

Located at No.436 of Shushan Road in Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou, the Southern Song Dynasty Official Kiln Art Museum is China’s first professional art museum focusing on the art and culture of the Southern Song Dynasty Official Kiln (royal porcelain of the Song Dynasty). Founded by Xiaoshan Song Dynasty Famous Porcelain Research Institute, the museum was officially open to the public in August 2005. The exhibition hall covered an area of 5,332 square meters and has been expanded to approximately 10,000 square meters, making it China’s largest art museum specialized in displaying the royal porcelain culture and art of the Southern Song Dynasty. The museum is in charge of the provincial intangible cultural heritage protection program named "Firing Skills of the Southern Song Dynasty Official Kiln". Additionally, it is also the Zhejiang Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Productive Protection Base, Zhejiang Provincial Social Science Popularization Center, and Zhejiang Provincial Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Center, etc.
