Recently, 25 international students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan, together with teachers from School of Tourism and Foreign Languages, took part in a series of practical teaching activities themed "Building Dreams through Practice, Experiencing the Beauty of China".

This series of practical teaching activities is conducted under three main themes.

The first theme is to experience intangible cultural heritage. On November 6th, international and Chinese students participated together in an activity to inherit the intangible cultural heritage of Cloisonne with the theme of "Discovering and Preserving Intangible Cultural Heritage with Craftsmanship and Pleasure." The students learned about the concept, history, and value of Cloisonne, a treasure of Chinese culture, and had the opportunity to create their own pieces under the guidance of students majoring in Tourism English. This hands-on experience allowed them to fully appreciate the charm of this ancient craft. Additionally, on November 27th, the international students participated in the ninth Campus Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival, which included live streaming to support rural revitalization and a bamboo weaving craft activity. These activities greatly encouraged integration of intangible cultural heritage with a better life and facilitated cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

The second theme is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the development of commodity economy in Zhejiang. On November 15th, international students visited Yiwu International Trade City and Huangyuan Market, deeply feeling the unique charm of the "City of World Small Commodities" and the prosperity of China's foreign trade. Upon arriving at the world-famous Yiwu International Trade City, they were amazed by the vast scale of the market and the wide variety of goods on display. During their visit and research, the students actively inquired about the materials, craftsmanship, and prices of various goods in Chinese. After learning about the role of China-Europe freight trains in promoting economic development between China and other countries, they became even more interested in pursuing careers in language translation, digital trade, and other related fields.

The last one is to strengthen the training of interpretation skills. On November 20th, international students, bearing the question of "how to better conduct tourist interpretation" in mind, visited the Xixi National Wetland Park in Hangzhou. Guided by their teachers, the students toured Yanshui Fishing Village, Hezhu Street, the Wedding Customs Museum, and the National Wetland Museum of China, gaining a clearer understanding of how to interpret natural landscapes, commercial streets, folk culture, biological resources, and other topics. In the practice session, three students, Suhan, Dilowa, and Umar, delivered vivid and interactive interpretations focusing on the overview of wetlands, flora and fauna.

    The series of practical teaching activities for international students titled "Building Dreams Through Practice, Experiencing the Beauty of China" leverages the advantages of the school's "Master Teacher Studio for International Students' Education on National Conditions in Zhejiang Province." It emphasizes diverse experiences and fully utilizes various practical training base resources, combined with distinctive courses such as "Experiencing Beautiful China" and "Tourism Chinese." These activities enable international students to step out of the campus, broaden horizons, expand cultural knowledge, and encourage learning motivation, embodying the goal of cultivating talents of "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" and promote the internationalization of Tourism College of Zhejiang.
