On May 20, the opening ceremony for the 2026 intake of Thai international students took place at the Training Building of Radisson Industry College. A total of 23 students from Phuket Vocational College and Suphan Buri Vocational College of Thailand gathered together with leaders, teachers from both Chinese and Thai institutions, as well as Chinese student representatives. They embarked on a three-week journey of vocational skill improvement and cultural exchange.

The ceremony kicked off in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Mrs.Sukanya  Polwik, Vice President of Phuket Vocational College, Mr. Songwut Ruanthai, President of Suphan Buri Vocational College, Mrs. Jensak Sangkamchalieng, Vice President of Suphan Buri Vocational College, and Mrs. Zheng Yuheng, Vice Dean of the School of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts, attended the event.

In her address, Vice President Sukanya  Polwik stated that vocational education cooperation between China and Thaila

nd has yielded fruitful results and boasts broad prospects. This short-term exchange program has built a high-quality learning platform for Thai students. It will not only help them improve professional skills and Chinese proficiency, but also further enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the youth of the two countries. She sincerely wished the program a great success and looked forward to deeper cooperation to set a benchmark for China-Thailand vocational education collaboration.

On behalf of Tourism College of Zhejiang,Mrs. Zheng Yuheng extended a warm welcome to the visiting Thai teachers and students. She reviewed the remarkable achievements of previous student exchanges between the two sides and praised the students for their diligence, eagerness to learn and positive attitude. During their stay, the Thai students will attend professional courses across multiple schools, participate in special lectures, enterprise practice and cultural experience activities, and experience the charm of Hangzhou as well as its distinctive tourism industry. She encouraged the students to gain abundant knowledge during the program and carry back fond memories and China-Thailand friendship to Thailand.

Zhou Hanqiong, representative of the head teachers, shared her own experience of studying in Thailand and sent warm greetings and best wishes to the Thai students. She promised to offer full support, help students solve problems in study and daily life, and accompany them to spend a fulfilling and memorable time in Hangzhou.

Student representatives from Suphan Buri Vocational College and Phuket Vocational College shared their thoughts. They were deeply impressed by Hangzhou’s modern development and profound cultural heritage upon arriving in China. They expressed that they would cherish this precious opportunity to learn Chinese and traditional Chinese culture, and strive to be young ambassadors for China-Thailand cultural exchange.

During the ceremony, Chinese and Thai students gave lively self-introductions and interacted actively with class assistants and volunteers, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. The subsequent cultural performances were brilliant. Chinese students presented classical dances, while Thai students performed traditional dances with unique ethnic features. The integration of Chinese and Thai cultures drew warm applause from all attendees and brought the ceremony to a climax.

At the end of the ceremony, all participants took a group photo and joined a lacquer fan painting experience. Under the guidance of Chinese teachers and students, the Thai students painted lacquer fans by hand, getting a close look at the unique charm of traditional Chinese crafts and excellent traditional culture.

This training program marks another in-depth cooperation between TCZJ and the two Thai colleges following the successful partnership in 2025. The two sides will take this exchange as an opportunity to further strengthen practical cooperation in vocational education and cultivate high-caliber technical talents with global vision.
