As the new semester starts, the school sees the return of our Chinese students and two of our international students from South Korea.
International students have been stranded in their home countries for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the offline learning and face-to-face communication impossible. However, our care and concerns for international students have never been affected. To ensure the learning effectiveness and teaching quality, the college made every effort to guide and help them study online via live streaming teaching and recorded lectures during the pandemic.
The adjustment and optimization of the epidemic prevention policy nationwide enabled two of our South Korean students to return the campus. Ms. Yan Shasha from the International Education Dept.and volunteer students went to Xiaoshan International Airport for the pickup. Back on campus, they also assisted them with the registration, dormitory check-in, campus card application, daily necessity purchase. Volunteers also took them for a campus tour to show the locations of the cafeteria, classrooms and other facilities, and how to use them. These efforts can help international students adapt to the new environment as soon as possible. With the orientation programs, our international students had a deeper understanding of the school's history, features, and achievements. They also learned Chinese laws and regulations on campus safety, classroom learning and scholarships, etc.
The international students said that they have been impressed by the care from the school and enthusiasm from our faculty and students since they landed at the airport. They also believed that they would blend into the school culture as soon as possible and focused on their studies.
