From April 18th to 19th, the first bilingual (internationally certified) Red Cross First Aid Training Course for universities in Zhejiang Province successfully concluded at Tourism College of Zhejiang(TCZJ). This training has opened a new chapter for international emergency first aid training in universities of Zhejiang.
The training was co-hosted by TCZJ and Red Cross Society of China ZheJiang Branch. Under the strict supervision of Director Sun Wenlan from Red Cross Society of China ZheJiang Branch, the course was jointly taught by Song Jingbo and Lou Jing, first aid trainers from TCZJ’s Red Cross Society. It attracted 19 international students from Tajikistan, South Korea, Russia and other countries. Using bilingual teaching in Chinese and English, teachers Song Jingbo and Lou Jing systematically explained core modules such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operation, trauma hemostasis and bandaging, and fracture fixation, combined with illustrated courseware, on-site simulation drills and case discussions.
To overcome language and cultural differences, the teachers specially designed scenario simulation exercises to help international students internalize skills and form muscle memory through repeated practice. The international students participated earnestly and quickly mastered the key operation points under the one-on-one guidance.
This training is an important measure for TCZJ to promote international education and serve the construction of the "Study at TCZJ" brand, as well as a specific practice of the School of International Education to improve the safety guarantee system for international students. In the future, taking this training as a starting point, TCZJ will deepen cooperation with Red Cross Society of China ZheJiang Branch, promote the integration of first aid education into the general education curriculum for international students, explore a replicable and promotable path for international emergency first aid education in universities in Zhejiang Province, and help improve the comprehensive quality of international students studying in China.
