From March 24th to 28th, a delegation from Tourism College of Zhejiang (TCZJ) conducted an academic and cooperative visit to Serbia, aiming to advance the construction of the China-Serbia Tourism College and expand the depth and breadth of Sino-Serbian tourism education cooperation.
President Du Lanxiao attended the second International Academic Conference on "Innovation in Tourism and Hospitality: Challenges and Perspectives" via video. The on-site delegation was led by Lang Fuping, Vice President.
Co-organized by the Belgrade Institute of Technology and TCZJ, the conference was attended by Ms. Labović, Director of the Serbian National Tourism Organization, Ms. Pekarsky, President of Belgrade Institute of Technology, and representatives from the Serbian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tourism and Youth. In her opening speech, President Du Lanxiao highlighted that the Sino-Serbia Tourism College, a partnership between TCZJ and the Belgrade Institute of Technology, is one of China's first operational Luban Workshops. She noted its significant achievements in "Chinese + Chinese Culinary Arts" education, academic research, and cultural exchange. President Du expressed hope that the conference would further strengthen academic collaboration between faculty members and provide valuable insights and intellectual support for the development of Serbia's tourism service industry.
During the conference, Ms. Wu Lijun, a faculty member from the College of Art, presented an academic report titled "Reshaping Tourism Cultural Landscapes: An In-Depth Exploration and Revival of Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales-Using the Game Black Myth: Wukong as a Case Study."
During their visit to the Belgrade Institute of Technology, the delegation held in-depth discussions with President Pekarsky and relevant heads from the School of Hotel and Culinary Arts and the School of Wellness and Health Care. Both sides engaged in detailed negotiations on faculty and student exchange, joint curriculum development, skills training, and academic pathway articulation, clarifying the direction for the next phase of cooperation.
The delegation also met with the Serbian National Tourism Organization, the Belgrade Chinese Cultural Center, the Belgrade Tourism Secondary School, the Serbian Long Dingsheng Group, and local Chinese associations. These meetings fostered extensive exchanges on topics including cultural mutual learning, educational cooperation, industry-education integration, skills competitions, and academic collaboration, resulting in multiple consensus agreements.
This visit has further solidified the foundation for China-Serbia cooperation in education and academia, injecting new momentum into the exchange and development of both countries in culture, tourism, and wellness. Moving forward, TCZJ will continue to leverage its distinctive "Chinese + Vocational Skills" educational model, using the Sino-Serbian Tourism College—featuring the "Silk Road College" and "Luban Workshop"—as a pivotal platform to contribute to a new chapter in Sino-Serbian friendship.
