The Tourism Event I (Study Travel Grouping) of the 2024 World Vocational School Skills Competition Finals came to a close with an award ceremony at Tourism College of Zhejiang (TCZJ) on October 26, 2024.

The event was attended by a lineup of VIPs, including Mr. Peng Binbai, director of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education, the Ministry of Education; Mr. Li Chun, deputy director-level inspector of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education, the Ministry of Education; Mr. Zhang Guangzhou, deputy director of Zhejiang Department of Culture, Broadcasting, Television and Tourism and director of the Organizing Committee of the Zhejiang Heat; Mr. Zhou Chunlin, vice chairman of the National Vocational Education Steering Committee and deputy director of the Organizing Committee of the Zhejiang Heat; and Mr. Bao Zhiyan, deputy secretary of the CCYL’s Zhejiang Committee, as well as Mr. Mao Donghui, secretary of CPC’s TCZJ Committee and Ms. Du Lanxiao, president of TCZJ, along with other officials from the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Department of Education and Zhejiang Department of Culture, Broadcasting, Television and Tourism.

The curtain of the closing ceremony rose with the program of “Asking About Rituals” by a group of performers from TCZJ. Two competition entering teams – from Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology and Tourism College of Zhejiang – showcased on the stage their remarkable entries respectively, drawing warm applause from the audience.

After making his comments on the Competition in the respects of the implications of study travel, the theme of the Competition, content design of study travel and the achievements of cooperation and innovation, Prof. Liu Sen, the head judge, announced the list of the award recipients: Gold Awards – 6 teams (Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology and Tourism College of Zhejiang, etc.); Silver Awards – 12 teams (Anhui Business and Technology College, and others); and Bronze Awards – 18 teams (Boertala Polytechnic, among others). Representatives of the award winners were presented with Certificate of Award by attending officials including Li Chun, Zhang Guangzhou, Bao Zhiyan, Zhou Chunlin and Mao Donghui, etc.

In the closing speech, Zhang Guangzhou said that the whole competition features impressive events, well-performing players, impartial and professional judges, and orderly venues, exhibiting the noticeable results of tourism vocational education and beautiful style of skilled talents in China. And he added that tourism vocational schools are always the backbone of tourism personnel training, and expect fellow members in tourism vocational education circles to take this Competition as an opportunity to boost the integration of schools and industry, explore training models for tourism talents, and contribute more to our country’s accelerated effort in building up a tourism and cultural powerhouse. Meanwhile, he hoped that each contestant will regard this Competition as a good point to start anew, identifying the gap, redoubling efforts, pressing ahead, and striving to become a first-rate, high-caliber professional keeping up with the time. And finally, he declared the official end of the Competition.

In an enthusiastic and jubilant vibe, the curtain of the Competition was brought down with the finale of “We into the Future” by a performing team from TCZJ.
