On April 24, the 19th International Students Chinese Talent Show Dream Tour in Zhejiang · Splendor on the Cloud was grandly held at the Xiasha Campus of Hangzhou Dianzi University. The event was jointly sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, Foreign Affairs Office of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and Zhejiang Radio and Television Group. Mao Donghui, Secretary of the University Party Committee, attended the activity, together with the person-in-charge of the School of International Education.
As the only representative vocational college selected for the event, our university’s international students presented a stunning performance of the opera dance Reminiscence · Ode to Pear Blossoms. Adapted from the classic traditional Chinese opera Ode to Pear Blossoms, the dance incorporates modern dance expressions and digital stage technologies. Through a blended presentation of virtual and real scenes, it showcases the inheritance and innovation of traditional opera art, winning prolonged applause from the on-site audience.
It is reported that the Zhejiang provincial Dream Tour in Zhejiang Chinese Talent Show has been successfully held for 19 consecutive editions. Centering on the theme Dream Tour in Zhejiang · Splendor on the Cloud, this year’s event focuses on the innovative integration of digital art and traditional Chinese cultural talents. International students from universities across Zhejiang gathered to enjoy this grand cultural feast.
Going forward, leveraging its distinctive advantages in cultural and tourism majors, our university will further enrich platforms for international education. It will cultivate international students’ understanding and friendship towards China as well as their affection for Zhejiang, continue to tell vivid stories of China, Zhejiang and the university, and bolster Zhejiang’s high-level opening up to the outside world.
